God Gave His Best
John 3:16-18
- He gave without partiality (For God so love the world vs. 16).
- His gift was offered to all.
- He gave His best (He gave His only begotten Son vs. 16).
- He gave the best He had to offer!
- In Jesus, God gave mankind a way out of sin.
- In Jesus, God gave everyone a path back to Him.
- In Jesus, God demonstrated His love for people.
- God doesn’t want any to perish. 2 Pet. 3:9
- He gave one of a kind.
- It was unique.
- It could not be replaced.
- It was part of Himself.
- What God gave was for all.
That whosoever vs. 16
- This describes the recipient of God’s love.
Believeth in vs. 16
- It means to trust in, to rely on, to cling to. 2:8,9; Titus 3:5
Him vs. 16
- Salvation is not found believing in the preacher, the church, a good Christian, but in Christ. Acts 4:12
Should not perish vs. 16
- This describes the intention of God’s love.
- God’s love actually saves man from eternal destruction. 3:23; 2 Pet. 3:9
But have everlasting life. vs 16
- This describes the duration of God’s love. The love we receive among people may fade or turn, but God’s love will never change. He will never stop loving His people.
- What God gave was appropriate.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world
through him might be saved. vs. 17
- Jesus revealed the heart of God the father in sending God the Son to bring salvation rescue, hope, healing to the world through Him.
- God gives to those who will accept Jesus.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. vs. 18
- God loves everyone!
- He wants everyone to accept His Son.
