5. Be a forgiver
Grudge bearing is harder on the grudger than the grudge. Forgive people because they need it.
Forgive because you need it. Forgive when they did it to you on purpose. Forgive your ex-husband or ex-wife. Forgive your children for failing you. Forgive your parents, they may have failed you.

Jesus taught forgiveness. He said for if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your heavenly Father forgive you. Matt. 6:14-15 ESV

Peter thought he had it on straight. He said Lord how often will my brother sin against me, and
I forgive him? As many as seven times? Jesus said to him, I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. Matt. 18:21-22 ESV

In other words, be a continual forgiver. The greatest example of forgiveness is in Jesus words on the cross: Father, forgive them for
they know not what they do. Lk. 23:34

Forgiving is what Jesus was doing on Calvary. Be a forgiver, people need it so badly, and it doesn’t cost, it pays.
