What is a Christian?
Acts 11:25-26
Below are three descriptions about “What is a Christian?” and the importance of becoming a Christian.
- A Christian is a mind through which Christ thinks. – Phil. 4:8,9
- We should not allow anything to enter into our minds that would not bring praise to Christ and His Church.
- Our minds should meditate or communicate with Christ on a continuous basis.
- A Christian is a voice through which Christ speaks.
- What about our speech?
- Are the words we use, the type of words Jesus would use? – Col. 4:6
- A Christian is a heart through which Christ lives. – Proverbs 4:23; Duet. 6:5
- People need to see Jesus in the life that we live.
- Being a Christian is allowing the will of Christ to take control of your life!
- How do you become a Christian?
- People become Christians when they:
- Do what the Bible says do.
- Do what people in the Bible did to become Christians.
- God’s plan:
- Hearing and Believing – Rom. 10:17
- Repenting of sins – Lk. 13:3,5
- Confessing Christ – Matt. 10:32,33
- Baptizing for the remission of sin – Acts 2:38
If you are willing to follow these instructions, you are ready to become a follower of Christ.
