Eph. 4:12-16

God wants His church to grow and be organized.

 

Minister’s role

  • Evangelist. – 2 Tim. 4:1-5
  • Equip the saints to do ministry. – Eph. 4:12
  • Set the church in order. – Titus 1:5
  • A Servant of Christ. – I Cor. 4:1
  • A Spiritual mentor

 

Elder’s role

  • Qualification. – I Tim. 3; Titus 1
  • Be a diligent student to be able to teach others and guard the flock. – Acts 20:28-31
  • Keep growing. – James 1:21, 22
  • To be examples. – I Pet. 5:3
  • Presbuteros a term that signifies maturity.  It’s a maturity of experience, wisdom, and discipline.
  • Overseer. – Acts 20:28
  • Shepherd or Pastor. – I Pet. 5:1,2

 

Deacon’s role

  • They’ve been tested. – I Tim. 3:10
  • One who has a specific ministry (ministries) they focus on.
  • Serve the people of the church.
  • Already involved in ministry.
  • Servants of the physical needs of the congregation.

 

Membership role

  • Members are to serve and help with whatever area it needs help in.
  • Submit- to, line up under. – Heb. 13:17
  • Live out what they have learned and been taught.

 

We are to cultivate positive relationships with our leadership and the leadership must cultivate positive relationships with the members.
