Making The New Year Count
Phil. 3:13-15
- I want to encourage us to fill 2021 with good things, positive things and make each day count.
- I want to encourage us to make a commitment to focus more on spiritual things in 2021.
- I want to encourage us to put in place some practical priorities.
- Priority #1: Forget about yesterday – Phil. 3:13, 14
- Failures, hurts, disappointments happen to all of us.
- God does not want us dwelling on them.
- Let us put the past behind us and forget about yesterday.
- Priority #2: Don’t’ worry about tomorrow – Matt. 6:25-34
- Tomorrow can be so overwhelming with the potential for anxiety, pain, challenges.
- God knows what we need, and that God will provide what we need.
- Our job is to trust God and to seek first His kingdom.
- Priority #3: Make today count Psa. – 118:24
- As we try to take life one day at a time, and making each day count, we can do so by walking with the Lord.
- Priority #4: Help every person you can – Gal. 6:10
- If we seek to be a blessing to everyone we meet, then both of us will be blessed.
- One of the greatest ways we can help others is to point them toward God.
- Priority #5: Act on God’s promises and commands – Phil. 4:9
- God is pleased when we trust in His promises and act on His command.
- May God help us to make this the best year for Ypsilanti Church of Christ and for each one of us.
- May God bless us as we walk with Him and serve Him in 2021, with clear priorities and vision for the New Year.
