Focusing On Letting Go Of The Past (continued)

Focusing On Letting Go Of The Past (continued)

The past does not determine what God can do for us today or tomorrow. That is the beauty of the Christian life. Even when we fail, we can ask for forgiveness and be totally cleansed of and released from our past actions. Whatever the past holds against you can be broken. It is never God who holds us back. We hold ourselves back by allowing the past to keep us from living to the fullest in the present and future. Failure is waiting around the corner for those who live off of yesterday’s successes and failures.

Choose to be forward-focused, not past-possessed. Learn to profit from the past while investing the future. Phil. 3:13-14

There are four keys to letting go of the past.

First stop feeling sorry for yourself.

Second decide to stop investing your time in past thinking.

Third focus on today.

Fourth forgive. Forgive yourself. Forgive those who, by their actions, keep you living in the past.

The key is forgetting those things which are behind in order to reach for the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. To fulfill your calling in Christ, you must first forget past failures and mistakes. Move forward. The past is the past.
