A Goal Changes Everything (continued)

In Habakkuk 2:2 God wrote His vision for us in the form of the Bible. He doesn’t rely only on the Holy Spirit to guide us; He put His directions in writing. When the vision is written down clearly, he may run who reads it.

The key word is run. God desires that we run with the vision for our lives.

As long as we are running with the vision, we won’t turn around. When we walk with a vision, it’s easy to change directions and go the wrong way.

We can’t stroll to a goal. Prov. 24:3-4

Effective goal setting provides an opportunity to bring the future to the present. That way you can run with it today. You will find that achievements are easy when your outer goals become inner commitments.

Even though we have the Holy Spirit, we still need to prepare, He just makes us better equipped to do so. Proper planning is so important.

When you plan, don’t leave God out of the plan. James 4:13-15

When you plan, look to the future, not to the past. You can’t effectively drive forward when you are looking out the rearview window.

Always involve yourself with something bigger than you are because that’s where God is.

Ponder the path of your feet and let all your ways be established. Prov. 4:26

You will find that what you learn on the path to your goals is actually more valuable than achieving the goal itself.
