Becoming A Person Of Influence (cont.)

Becoming A Person Of Influence (cont.)

Last week we ended by saying God is really the only one that you are able to please. Why is that?

Because he is the only one who says point blank here is what I want from you. This is what I expect from you. You can read through the Bible and come away knowing exactly what God want from you. Other people don’t give you such clear signals. They say one thing and actually mean another and expect you to figure it out.

God is the only one who enables you to do exactly what he expects from you.

Only God says I want you to love me and then fills your heart with love. He is the only one who says I want you to be kind and then fills you with kindness. He is the only one who says I want you to stop committing that sin and then gives you the power to turn away from it.

When you go back to the text in Gal.1:10 Paul is not saying he never tried to do anything that was pleasing to someone else. The same Paul who said I’m not a people pleaser also said In I Cor. 9:22 NIV I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.

How can those two statements be reconciled?
